Equality and diversity
City Hospitals Sunderland is a firm believer in equal opportunities for staff and its customers.
The Trust has now published its Equality & Diversity Strategy for the period 2012 to 2016. This document is a public commitment of how we aspire to meet the needs and wishes of local people and our staff, and meet the duties placed upon us by the Equality Act 2010, and the requirements of the national NHS Equality Delivery System (EDS).
It recognises the differences between people, and how we aim to make sure that (as far as possible) any gaps and inequalities are identified and addressed. It also identifies key objectives going forward for the coming year.
