The Trust’s Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) radiographers are an experienced and friendly team. They use some of the best equipment available to aid in the diagnosis of various conditions.
The MRI team are part of the Radiology department.
Sunderland Royal Hospital hosts two state of the art Siemens 1.5T Magnet systems providing a wide range of MRI examinations for inpatients and outpatients providing cover from 8am until 8pm 7 days a week.

MRI service is provided at Sunderland Royal Hospital, situated in the Radiology department on C level next to the Emergency Department. The nearest carpark is the multi-storey carpark. The most convenient entrance to access our department from is Entrance 3.
