Rheumatology

Rheumatology provide inpatient, outpatient and day case care to patients with a wide range of conditions. The department also offers a blood test monitoring service for patients receiving disease modifying drugs to ensure safety.

The approach to care in rheumatology is patient centred; we value a multi-disciplinary approach and work closely with therapy services including physiotherapy and occupational therapy. Joint clinics are carried out with other specialities for conditions such as osteoporosis and ultra-sound imaging in inflammatory arthritis.

We also have joint injection/soft tissue clinics carried out by our physiotherapists and several specialist nurse clinics for early arthritis education, biologics medicines and osteoporosis
