Active Sunderland Big Walk 2019
The Active Sunderland Big Walk event on the 30th June, is an ideal opportunity for those who wish to enjoy the beautiful wear valley while also fundraising for the Hospital Charity.
A 3 mile family friendly walk with scavenger hunt will provide an engaging opportunity to discover more about one of the city's finest outdoor spaces. This route takes place completely within the boundaries of the Herrington Country Park so is perfect for families, beginners or those with mobility issues.
The other two routes (7 and 11 miles) take place in the beautiful river Wear Valley behind Penshaw Monument. This area of unspoilt countryside is home to a rich mosaic of habitats and wildlife and is a fantastic place to walk, with mile upon mile of footpaths through open countryside, ancient woodland and along the banks of the river Wear.
Under 16's must be accompanied by an adult.
