Stronger Together - Our vision to become one Trust
A big thank you to everyone who has shared their views and provided feedback around the proposed merger of City Hospitals Sunderland and South Tyneside NHS Foundation Trusts.
We are committed to ensuring that the process of any potential merger is transparent and reflects the views of colleagues, patients, the public and our stakeholders.
The next steps will see us develop and submit a full business case by December 2018. All of the feedback we have received will be considered as part of this process.
Through our work together so far, we have made great progress in delivering our joint vision to provide high quality services, and deliver sustainable hospital and community health services for many future generations to come. Having worked together for over two years, the Boards of both organisations believe very strongly that now is the right time to formally merge our two Trusts so that we can further accelerate the pace of positive change and deliver more quality improvements for the benefit of both our patients and staff.
