The City Hospitals Sunderland Cardiac Rehabilitation Physiotherapists work as part of a team which includes Consultant Cardiologists, Cardiac Specialist Nurses, Clinical Psychologists and exercise professionals to offer lifestyle and exercise advice and emotional support to patients following a heart event.
Following discharge from hospital all patients follow are offered an individual assessment and are provided with a choice of treatment options.
All Specialist Physiotherapists have post graduate clinical training in working with heart patients and all are members of British Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation (BACPR) and Association of Physiotherapists working in Cardiac Rehabilitation.
All members of the Physiotherapy Team attend a structured training programme to ensure that their knowledge and skills are continuously updated to meet your needs. Treatment offered is in line with national standards, professional codes of conduct and evidence-based practice.
